Turning photos into a PDF is the standard way to submit receipts for expenses, share scanned paperwork, or bundle visual evidence into a single clean document. An iPhone captures great photos, but putting several pictures into one neat multi-page PDF can be surprisingly tricky with the default apps.

Apple has a hidden pinch-to-zoom gesture in the Print dialog, but it gives you zero control over page sequence, margins, or image compression. Here is how to use the built-in trick, and how to create a structured PDF with multiple photos in one go.

The built-in Print trick in iOS Photos (and its limitations)

Open the Photos app, tap Select, and mark the images you want to convert. Tap the Share button, then choose Print from the share menu. On the print preview screen, pinch outward with two fingers on any thumbnail: iOS generates a temporary PDF preview. From there, tap the Share icon to save it to Files.

While convenient for a single picture, this method has real drawbacks. It enforces arbitrary printer margins, offers no way to rearrange photo order, and often produces huge PDF files that exceed email attachment limits.

How to convert photos to PDF in one batch with File Acture

For clean documents, open Images to PDF in File Acture. Tap Add from Photos or Add from Files and select all your images at once. The app imports them into a visual grid where you can drag and drop pages into your preferred order.

When you tap Create PDF, the engine compiles the images locally into On My iPhone › File Acture › PDF. You can share the final file immediately or save it to your iCloud Drive.

Controlling page order, margins, and orientation

Professional submissions often require consistent formatting. File Acture lets you choose standard page sizes such as A4 or US Letter, set portrait or landscape orientation, and adjust page margins so your photos look like a proper report.

You can also rotate individual images that were captured sideways before finalizing the document.

Combining HEIC, JPG, and PNG images together

An iPhone library usually mixes HEIC camera photos, PNG screenshots, and downloaded JPG graphics. You do not need to convert them beforehand; File Acture handles mixed image formats seamlessly.

  • Mixed sources: Combine camera roll snaps and downloaded receipts into one document.
  • Shrinking large PDFs: If your photo PDF is too big to upload to a portal, run Compress PDF to shrink it down.
  • Converting individual pictures? If you only need JPG files instead of a PDF, use Convert HEIC to JPG.

Keeping personal photos and receipts private

Receipts contain banking details, ID photos show personal credentials, and medical bills contain sensitive health records. Cloud-based converter sites process these images on remote servers, storing copies in temporary caches. File Acture converts everything locally on your iPhone, ensuring complete privacy.

Questions

How do I turn multiple photos into one PDF on iPhone?

Open File Acture, choose Images to PDF, pick your photos from your library, arrange their order, and tap Create PDF.

Does the built-in iOS Print trick reduce photo quality?

The Print trick re-renders images to standard printer resolution, which can result in inconsistent sharpness and unnecessarily large file sizes.

Can I combine HEIC photos and PNG screenshots into the same PDF?

Yes. File Acture seamlessly accepts HEIC, JPG, PNG, and WebP images and unifies them into a single PDF document.

Will creating a PDF delete my original photos from Photos?

No. Your original pictures stay untouched in your Photos library; the new PDF is saved separately in the Files app.

Can I password-protect the generated PDF on my phone?

Yes. After creating the PDF, you can use File Acture’s Password Protect PDF tool to encrypt it with a secure password.
