Terms of Use

The app

File Acture is an app that processes PDFs, images and archives on your own device. It is available for Mac and Windows today; versions for other platforms are covered by these terms as they are released. We may update the app and change or add features over time.

Free version

The free version includes every tool, with 5 free runs a day on each device and up to 5 files in a run. New runs become available every day at midnight, Turkey time (Europe/Istanbul). Counting free runs requires an internet connection. We may change what the free version includes.

Your account

You need an account to buy Pro. You sign in with your email address and a one-time code, or with Google or Apple if offered. Keep access to that email address, and don’t let others use your account. You can delete an account without licenses on the Account page; for other accounts, email us.

Pro license

A Pro license is a one-time purchase that removes the free version’s limits on one device at a time, for personal or business use. You can buy several licenses at once, one for each device, and move a license to another device by removing the old device in your account.

Licenses belong to your account on fileacture.com, where you can see your keys and devices. Your keys are for you and for the people you buy them for. Don’t publish or resell them. We may revoke a license that is refunded, charged back or shared publicly.

Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by Polar as the merchant of record, and Polar’s terms apply to the payment. Prices are shown on the Pricing page and may change; you pay the price shown at checkout. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, its licenses are revoked.

Mac App Store

If you got File Acture from the Mac App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to it as well, and File Acture Pro is bought inside the app as an in-app purchase through Apple. Apple processes the payment and handles refunds, and the purchase can be restored on your other Macs signed in with the same Apple Account. Pro bought in the App Store works in the App Store version only, and a license key bought on fileacture.com works in the version downloaded from this website only.

Acceptable use

Don't try to get around the license check or the free-run limit, and don't use File Acture to break the law or someone else's rights. For example, only remove passwords from PDFs you are allowed to open.

Your files

Your files never leave your device, and File Acture always saves results as new files. Still, no software is perfect: keep backups of files that matter and check results before you rely on them.

No warranty

To the extent the law allows, File Acture is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages or for lost data or profits, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your license.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date above shows the current version, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
